Kerry has always had a lifelong interest in sports psychology, fitness and health. An elite athlete in his day, reaching state representation in several sports Kerry knows first-hand the resources and opportunities that need to be provided to aspiring professional athletes for them to be able to reach their goals and dreams.
After a horrific car accident Kerry was left with two broken vertebrae (C6 & C7), experts in their field gave Kerry no hope of ever returning to physical activity. Kerry proved the experts wrong and knows first-hand the path one must take and the mental attitude needed to deal with adversity.
Kerry has a very unique set of skills, along with his background in psychology and his education in the strength and conditioning field, Kerry also incorporates elements and philosophies of many other disciplines into his programs, such as, Foundation Training, Ju-Jitsu, Gymnastics, Nam Baldwin’s BET program and Zoo Movements, just to name a few.
This gives Kerry a very holistic approach towards the physical and cognitive development of his clients and athletes. The results he has produced prove that his method is effective, for example, Kerry has coached several triathletes that have reached international success and claimed world championship status.
He has helped surf lifesavers reach state and national championship level as well as the prestigious Kellogg’s Ironman and Ironwoman tour. Furthermore he has played a role in junior swimmers claiming state and national titles.
In regards to Surfing the OPC has itself produced state and national champions along with providing a platform for many surfers to go on to enjoy success in the international arena. Lastly Kerry is adaptable and also coaches some of Australia’s most promising tennis players and Kayakers.
